“Mutual Friend” fue lanzada como el segundo sencillo de su próximo segundo álbum “YESSIE” el mes pasado y fue escrita por Jessie Reyez y Ryan Williamson, quienes también produjeron la canción. El video de la actuación fue dirigido por Philip Harris.
“Dijeron, ‘F-k, Jessie, vamos’. Lo he hecho antes, donde escribí canciones una hora después de una pelea: salí del auto, cerré la puerta, fui al estudio. [EP debut] Kiddo se hizo de esa manera. Así que no era realmente nuevo para mí, pero supongo que era nuevo para ellos tener una canción que surgió de una conversación que sucedió literalmente durante el día. El álbum “YESSIE” se lanzará el 16 de septiembre de 2022. Ella dijo sobre el álbum: “Casi se siente como el primero real, es una mezcla de tonterías por las que he pasado y las tonterías por las que anticipo pasar”.
