Esta es la primera canción de su próximo álbum debut “Build A Problem”, que se lanzará el 5 de marzo de 2021. La canción se estrenó en el programa de Annie Mac en BBC1 bajo la viñeta “Hottest Record In The World” y luego se convirtió en # 3 en Twitter.
‘Cool Girl’ trata sobre la vulnerabilidad de una mujer joven que cuenta abiertamente su historia, sin ninguna red de seguridad.
Dodie ha realizado el vídeo con el director Charlie Di Placido (Nines, Kojey Radical, JUNGLE) y la coreógrafa Miranda Chambers.
Dodie se cuenta a sí misma sobre el video:
“Ver a Charlie y Miranda dar vida a un sentimiento intrincado fue increíblemente satisfactorio y divertido: son una pareja encantadora y talentosa. Elegimos desarrollar una pieza de danza abstracta, (libro terminado con naturalismo) para representar el conflicto interno pero contenido de la supresión de necesidades y permanecer “fresco”. Miranda y yo trabajamos de cerca para reflejar la frustración y el intento de compostura de las letras en movimiento, y Charlie, por supuesto, tiene el ojo y el alma perfectos para el movimiento, la fluidez y el sentimiento del grupo. ¡Espero que hagamos algo de nuevo! ¡Ya lo extraño! “
